Fix your drain without digging up your yard

If your drains are giving you real trouble, The Drain Man can help. We’re award winning drain experts. We clear the blockage without making things worse by digging up your garden. Then we restore the pipe for good with relining, which keeps tree roots out. We can also fix broken or collapsed drains so they flow like new again.

Our no dig relining uses trenchless technology. You don’t pay for costly, damaging digging. You don’t pay to fix concrete driveways, patios, paths or gardens either.

Your relined drain comes with a lifetime warranty, so you have nothing to worry about. We reline drains in homes and commercial properties.

We use CCTV drain cameras to find the cause and get the pipe ready to reline. Then high pressure water jetting clears and cleans it. You always get the camera footage, so you see what we see. That way you know exactly what your drain needs for a long term fix.

Signs your drain may need relining

  • The same drain blocks again and again.
  • Our camera finds tree roots growing inside the pipe.
  • The pipe has cracked, broken or partly collapsed.
  • Joints have shifted and let soil in.
  • Someone has told you the drain must be dug up.

A camera check shows which of these your drain has, and whether relining will fix it. Find out why drains keep getting blocked.

Why reline your drain?

  • No digging to repair your drains.
  • No cost to restore your property.
  • Reline the whole sewer or stormwater drain, or just a short section.
  • A relined drain keeps tree roots out.
  • Relined drains don’t leak and are stronger than the old pipe.
  • The lining is guaranteed for life.
  • You get a stronger drain that flows more smoothly.

How drain relining works

  1. Clear and clean

We clear and clean the inside of your existing pipe with special equipment.

  2. Make the liner

We cut the new liner to the exact length and shape needed, then add a fast drying resin.

  3. Pull it into place

We pull the liner in through an existing or new entry point and line it up exactly where it’s needed.

  4. Inflate and harden

We inflate the liner so it presses against the old pipe walls, then hold it there while it hardens.

  5. Test and hand over

We check and test the drain. You get your lifetime warranty and camera footage of the smooth new liner.

Relining or replacement?

Digging up a drain means trenches, a crew and a few days of work. After that, you pay to put your garden, paths and driveway back together. Relining is much quicker. Often the whole job is done in one day.

Relining isn’t always possible. A drain that has fully collapsed or has large pieces missing may be too weak to line. Even so, we’ve saved many badly damaged drains that others said couldn’t be relined. Compare relining and replacement.

Old pipes or new, relining works

Older drains are often terracotta or cast iron. They were laid in sections, and those sections can pull apart and leave gaps. Newer drains are often PVC, which can crack or break at the joints.

Whatever your pipe is made of, the liner forms one solid sleeve inside it. It closes every gap and crack that let roots in. In a PVC drain, it makes the pipe more than twice as strong as before.

Relining questions

Can you reline a drain under my driveway or house?

Yes, and that’s where relining helps most. We work from inside the pipe, so the concrete, paving or building above it stays put.

Will tree roots come back?

Not through a relined section. The liner seals the cracks and gaps that roots use to get in. It still pays not to plant new trees or large shrubs over your drain lines.

How much relining have you done?

The Drain Man has over 30 years of experience and has relined tens of thousands of drains. Our own employees do the work, never subcontractors.

No dig. No damage. No danger.

In effect, you get new pipes. Our relining uses your old pipe as the base for the new liner. Once it cures, the liner stands on its own strength, as good as new or better.
