Manhole structures are the principal means of access for sewer and stormwater system maintenance. Effective manhole inspection and rehabilitation are necessary to remove excessive manhole infiltration and inflow, improve manhole structural integrity, address public safety-related issues, and implement general system maintenance requirements.
TDM carries out frequent Manhole Inspections to:
Identify/confirm manhole GPS location
Address public safety related matters
Identify excessing manhole infiltration and inflow
Assess structural stability & safe access for workers and assist with future budget planning/forecasting/prioritisation for either manhole replacement and/or rehabilitation
Gather inspection data such as, depth, qty of conduits, defects, step iron condition and overall condition
Cleverscan is a rapid, automated manhole inspection system deployed from surface level, capable of capturing high-res, detailed images of the manhole’s internal surface. CleverScan's five HD cameras and powerful illumination system allow it to build a detailed image scan and capture video with the high-res image data stitched together into a single scan. The scan presents high-resolution detail of every square inch of a manhole wall and allows an analyst to quickly scan for structural defects, infiltration, and unmapped features. The scan can also be annotated and measured using a host of tools within CleverScan software while WinCan's CleverScan module allows you to create detailed reports effortlessly.
CleverScan's array of four lasers capture the geometry of the manhole into a high-resolution point cloud. This geometry is ideal for performing capacity studies, taking measurements for rehab projects and populating CAD models. Point cloud data is exportable in a variety of common formats and can be viewed directly in the CleverScan software or WinCan's CleverScan module.
CleverScan inspects a manhole in less than 30 seconds and the compact, lightweight design allows the system to be setup within minutes. Once positioned over a manhole, a single button press initiates the scan sequence, the system measures manhole depth, lowers the probe accordingly and then assembles scan data for instant viewing. The data is then transferred to WinCan's CleverScan module for reporting and advanced analysis. CleverScan's portable design means it can be deployed by a single operator from any small utility vehicle, keeping the footprint small and inspection rate high.
